Banners was made using silkscreen and tataki zome (japanese flower & leaf pounding) on cotton fabric. Featuring a variety of fruit, vegetables, mushrooms and flowers including figs, peaches, clementines, pears, black trumpets, chantarelles, serranos, garlic, marigolds, salvia, delphinium, pansies, cosmos, nasturtiums and geraniums. The pieces meditate on the seasonal pleasure and luxury the botanical world cycles through. Like the flower prints it features, these gifts are fleeting and enjoyed at specific times of the year: black trumpets gathered from the woods, peaches from a neighbors tree, marigolds & delphiniums blooming in the garden. This particular sampling arises from late summer early fall.
